The Importance of Backlinking

************************************************************************

Please visit our tips page for making money on line.

************************************************************************
If you’ve read anything about or studied Search Engine Optimization, you’ve come across the term “backlink” at least once. For those of you new to SEO, you may be wondering what a backlink is, and why they are important. Backlinks have become so important to the scope of Search Engine Optimization, that they have become some of the main building blocks to good SEO. In this article, we at Robs Cash Creators will explain to you what a backlink is, why they are important, and what you can do to help gain them while avoiding getting into trouble with the Search Engines.

What are “backlinks”? Backlinks are links that are directed towards your website. Also knows as Inbound links (IBL’s). The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website. Backlinks are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query.

A search engine considers the content of the sites to determine the QUALITY of a link. When inbound links to your site come from other sites, and those sites have content related to your site, these inbound links are considered more relevant to your site. If inbound links are found on sites with unrelated content, they are considered less relevant. The higher the relevance of inbound links, the greater their quality.

For example, if a webmaster has a website about how to rescue orphaned kittens, and received a backlink from another website about kittens, then that would be more relevant in a search engine’s assessment than say a link from a site about car racing. The more relevant the site is that is linking back to your website, the better the quality of the backlink.

Another reason to achieve quality backlinks is to entice visitors to come to your website. You can’t build a website, and then expect that people will find your website without pointing the way. You will probably have to get the word out there about your site. One way webmasters got the word out used to be through reciprocal linking. Let’s talk about reciprocal linking for a moment.

There is much discussion in these last few months about reciprocal linking. In the last Google update, reciprocal links were one of the targets of the search engine’s latest filter. Many webmasters had agreed upon reciprocal link exchanges, in order to boost their site’s rankings with the sheer number of inbound links. In a link exchange, one webmaster places a link on his website that points to another webmasters website, and vice versa. Many of these links were simply not relevant, and were just discounted. So while the irrelevant inbound link was ignored, the outbound links still got counted, diluting the relevancy score of many websites. This caused a great many websites to drop off the Google map.

Many webmasters have more than one website.
Sometimes these websites are related, sometimes they are not. You have to also be careful about interlinking multiple websites on the same IP. If you own seven related websites, then a link to each of those websites on a page could hurt you, as it may look like to a search engine that you are trying to do something fishy. Many webmasters have tried to manipulate backlinks in this way; and too many links to sites with the same IP address is referred to as backlink bombing.

There are a few things to consider when beginning your backlink building campaign. It is helpful to keep track of your backlinks, to know which sites are linking back to you, and how the anchor text of the backlink incorporates keywords relating to your site. A tool to help you keep track of your backlinks is the Domain Stats Tool. This tool displays the backlinks of a domain in Google, Yahoo, and MSN. It will also tell you a few other details about your website, like your listings in the Open Directory, or DMOZ, from which Google regards backlinks highly important; Alexa traffic rank, and how many pages from your site that have been indexed, to name just a few.

Building quality backlinks is extremely important to Search Engine Optimization,
and because of their importance, it should be very high on your priority list in your SEO efforts. We hope you have a better understanding of why you need good quality inbound links to your site, and have a handle on a few helpful tools to gain those links.

Take some time now and THINK about it! Then? JUST DO IT!

Importance of Sitemaps

************************************************************************

To Make Money From Home Click Here!

************************************************************************

There are many SEO tips and tricks that help in optimizing a site but one of those, the importance of which is sometimes underestimated is sitemaps.

Sitemaps, as the name implies, are just a map of your site – i.e. on one single page you show the structure of your site, its sections, the links between them, etc. Sitemaps make navigating your site easier and having an updated sitemap on your site is good both for your users and for search engines.

Sitemaps are an important way of communication with search engines. While in robots.txt you tell search engines which parts of your site to exclude from indexing, in your site map you tell search engines where you’d like them to go like to RobsCashCreators.

Sitemaps are not a novelty. They have always been part of best Web design practices but with the adoption of sitemaps by search engines, now they become even more important. However, it is necessary to make a clarification that if you are interested in sitemaps mainly from a SEO point of view, you can’t go on with the conventional sitemap only (though currently Yahoo! and MSN still keep to the standard html format). For instance, Google Sitemaps uses a special (XML) format that is different from the ordinary html sitemap for human visitors.

One might ask why two sitemaps are necessary. The answer is obvious – one is for humans, the other is for spiders (for now mainly Googlebot but it is reasonable to expect that other crawlers will join the club shortly). In that relation it is necessary to clarify that having two sitemaps is not regarded as duplicate content. In ‘Introduction to Sitemaps’, Google explicitly states that using a sitemap will never lead to penalty for your site.

Why Use a Sitemap
Using sitemaps has many benefits, not only easier navigation and better visibility by search engines. Sitemaps offer the opportunity to inform search engines immediately about any changes on your site. Of course, you cannot expect that search engines will rush right away to index your changed pages but certainly the changes will be indexed faster, compared to when you don’t have a sitemap.

Also, when you have a sitemap and submit it to the search engines,
you rely less on external links that will bring search engines to your site. Sitemaps can even help with messy internal links – for instance if you by accident have broken internal links or orphaned pages that cannot be reached in other way (though there is no doubt that it is much better to fix your errors than rely on a sitemap).

If your site is new, or if you have a significant number of new (or recently updated pages),
then using a sitemap can be vital to your success. Although you can still go without a sitemap, it is likely that soon sitemaps will become the standard way of submitting a site to search engines. Though it is certain that spiders will continue to index the Web and sitemaps will not make the standard crawling procedures obsolete, it is logical to say that the importance of sitemaps will continue to increase.

Sitemaps also help in classifying your site content, though search engines are by no means obliged to classify a page as belonging to a particular category or as matching a particular keyword only because you have told them so.

Having in mind that the sitemap programs of major search engines (and especially Google) are still in beta, using a sitemap might not generate huge advantages right away but as search engines improve their sitemap indexing algorithms, it is expected that more and more sites will be indexed fast via sitemaps.

Generating and Submitting the Sitemap

The steps you need to perform in order to have a sitemap for your site are simple. First, you need to generate it, then you upload it to your site, and finally you notify Google about it.

Depending on your technical skills, there are two ways to generate a sitemap
– to download and install a sitemap generator or to use an online sitemap generation tool. The first is more difficult but you have more control over the output. You can download the Google sitemap generator from Google. After you download the package, follow the installation and configuration instructions in it.

The second way to generate a sitemap is easier.
There are many free online tools that can do the job for you. For instance, have a look at this collection of Third-party Sitemap tools. Although Google says explicitly that it has neither tested, nor verified them, this list will be useful because it includes links to online generators, downloadable sitemap generators, sitemap plugins for popular content-management systems, etc., so you will be able to find exactly what you need.

After you have created the sitemap,
you need to upload it to your site (if it is not already there) and notify Google about its existence. Notifying Google includes adding the site to your Google Sitemaps account, so if you do not have an account with Google, it is high time to open one. Another detail that is useful to know in advance is that in order to add the sitemap to your account, you need to verify that you are the legitimate owner of the site.

Currently Yahoo! and MSN do not support sitemaps,
or at least not in the XML format, used by Google. Yahoo! allows webmasters to submit “a text file with a list of URLs” (which can actually be a stripped-down version of a site map), while MSN does not offer even that but there are rumors that it is indexing sitemaps when they are available onsite. Most likely this situation will change in the near future and both Yahoo! and MSN will catch with Google because user-submitted site maps are just a too powerful SEO tool and cannot be ignored.

Take some time now and THINK about it! Then? JUST DO IT!

Get More Exposure for Your Website with Article Writing

Writing articles every day to publish online is an essential marketing strategy if you want to get yourself known and make money this is your cash creator. It’s also very difficult getting started but you just have to jump in. You sell yourself through the content of your article which must be useful, interesting and informative.

When you do it well and consistently, you gain credibility and people would be interested to look at your product. This means you have to write a few hundred articles for maximum exposure, especially if you’re only depending on article writing.

If that’s the case, you must send your articles to the best article directories, all of which are free of charge. Write one article a day, every single day. After you’ve gotten the hang of it (about a month) make it two a day, etc. because you’d have learnt about your new product by then.

Article Content To get started, write about what you know or have learnt about your product. Don’t use the verbatim draft article or press release companies often provide. It is only an example, after all. Plus, if you use them as they are, they tend to sound stiff and uninteresting and nobody’s going to read it.

And in any case, somebody will already have used the text and that will get your article rejected by article directories. Yep, it’s all been said before. Find a new angle; put your own spin on the content.

If you’re new to the product and market, check the speciality review sites for information and ratings. Read other articles for ideas and draft your own based on what you understood. I didn’t say copy or rewrite what you read. That’s plagiarism!

Article Title and Keywords On a scale of one hundred, your article title should be between seventy to eighty characters long, no more. This is for the search engines to take an interest in you. Always put your keywords in the first four (4) words of your title and try to repeat them at the end, athough sometimes that’s not possible.

A good example is my title; my keyword is article writing but I couldn’t fit it in exactly the same way and have it make sense, so I turned it around. It still works. I got this tip from J. Herring, the article marketing guy.

Search engines ‘lose interest’ if they don’t find any keywords in the first four to five words of your title; that’s why long titles matter. But please remember that your titles should always make sense. Article directories will reject your article for this.

Use of Keywords in Article Body and Article Length Repeat your keywords in the first line of your first paragraph and write between four hundred to five hundred words per article. You don’t need more. The ratio of keywords to article content is one keyword for every hundred words.

Article Submission After you’ve written your article, proof-read it, do it again in preview mode, and one last time after you publish it (you can usually edit after publishing in most free article directories but not at EzineArticles).

Send your articles to the best article directories: EzineArticles (top notch in all areas); Buzzle (tons of how-to write information and they accept fiction and poems); GoArticles (easy, good exposure & great for 1st timers); Amazines (distribute to other ezines); iSnare (pay for articles but no promotional content). Get exposure.

Be sure to read the submission guidelines and stick to them. If you don’t already have one, open a Twitter account and upload your articles there as well and think about joining other social groups where you can promote your articles (not Digg and Propeller – that’s spam to them).

Rob ;-)

Real World Search Engine Optimisation

The first thing to note is that search engines are getting a little bit smarter.
Especially Google. They are a smart bunch of folks at Google. They are always
improving their algorithms for cash creators sites. One of the things they are getting smarter about is
homing in on the pages that are truly helpful for people.

If you are searching for a page about organic gardening, Google wants to find the best page about organic gardening for you. They want to serve up the page that gives the human searcher
the best information about that topic. And mention earlier, about the spammy keyword stuffed pages that only a cyborg would understand. You don’t want that.

Increasingly, search engines are not looking favorably on pages like that. Especially
Google. Google’s getting pretty cut throat about it. And the reason is, they provide a
service. They want people to come to Google and get good out of it. The only way
to get good out of it is, to find pages that are actually helpful. So when people ask,
how do we write copy that is good for humans and good for search engines?

You can’t forget the first part. Focus on the first part first. Make your copy good for
human beings. It’s got to communicate your message. If it’s providing good
information about your topic, search engines actually like that better that just bunch
of keywords in there that sound like your talking in chant. So that’s the first thing to
keep in mind.

When people talk about copy writing, they often talk about sales pages. Most people
who create those pages aren’t really focused on SEO at all. They are getting traffic
to those pages from other sources besides search engines. So when we are talking
about web copy for the most part, when we are talking about it in SEO terms, we
are talking about other kinds of copy.

So you have a website about organic gardening and on your home page you talk a
little bit about organic gardening. You have a page with a different aspect of organic
gardening. Remember the first rule is to make the page helpful to human beings
and then you want to do what you might call SEO-affying your page. The other guys
have talked about that a little bit. I know that in lucid SEO we are going in a little
more detail about it. But here’s some examples of the things you might do to SEOaffy
your copy.

So you’ve made it useful to human beings. Then you want to inject your keyword
into the copy or just go back and make sure your keywords are in your copy in ways
that will make the search engines really like your page. So again, lets go back to
something that is not even on your page in the way most people think about it.

Your title tag. That’s copy. People won’t think about it as copy but it’s copy. Copy doesn’t
mean just the text on the middle of your page, it’s all the copy on your page.
The ALT tag in the image tag that’s copy too. But getting back to the actual stuff that the human being can read on the page.

Start with the title tags that show up in the title bar of your browser. Make sure your keywords are
in it. On your page, you will have a headline or two. You’re going to have H1 tags,
H2 tags, H3 tags, anything with an H in it. Put your keywords in there.

Then you want to make sure your keywords are in the actual text on the page, and you want
to have a healthy amount of text on the page. If you just have a few keywords on
the page, or a few words on the page that’s probably not going to cut the mustard.

What you really want is a healthy bit of text with your keywords in it in a natural way.
So if you’re trying to write human readable stuff, how do you do that? Well it’s pretty
easy, actually. Start by talking about your topic and use your keywords early and
often in your copy.

That is the rule of thumb. Early and often, just use your keywords. You don’t need to get all in a twist about keyword density and all that stuff. Just use your keywords early and often naturally. Also, something else to mention, that is becoming relevant with search engines is related keywords.

I won’t go in to too much detail, but using stuff that is related to your keywords, but not
exactly your keywords. So synonyms for your keywords. Topical stuff that relates to
your keyword. Google’s getting smarter, they are getting smarter all the time and
they are going to be moving in the direction of really trying to figure out what the
page is about.

So don’t just say, well my keyword is organic gardening. I’ll include 67 instances of
organic gardening on my page. That’s not going to do it. Include organic gardening,
a few times, 10 times, how ever many times, just a healthy number and also include
related concepts in your copy that search engines will like. If you do that, your going
to end up with copy search engines like. But your not going to fix it so human beings
will look at your page and say, “uuuggghhh! This is junk and pull away.”.

Generate Quality Leads Through Search Engine Optimization

Do you believe there is an art to generating good quality Leads?

If you are just getting started in your first home based business or have you been part of the work from home crowd for awhile, generating leads and traffic for your business such as cash creators secrets will be one of your #1 concerns. If you are like most of us, you are looking at various methods or traffic generation and you’ve likely paid for ads, leads, e-zines, banners, pay per click, you name it. You might have done your fair share of free classified ads too. How are those things working out for you?

The one thing I have noticed as I have progressed in my own experience and learning curve in the network marketing industry, is that there are lot of variations on the best way to market your business today. Some people focus primarily on classified ads and media print ads. Others focus primarily on online marketing and use banners, ads, classifieds, articles, blogs, forums, traffic generators, referral links, Pay per click, and all kinds of other things. All the these methods of advertising are excellent ways to promote a home based business and they fit various budgets in the process.

The one important thing I have learned as I have gone through my own learning curve, however, is how critical Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be to your success. After having paid a lot of money on other methods, I developed a goal for myself and my business to generate as many leads as possible and do that for free (or next to free) without having to pay through the nose for people to view my website.

By mastering SEO and figuring out how to get content found on the search engines by spiders, it is not too difficult to begin generating tons of quality free leads without spending a dime. I know that might sound too good to be true, but believe me….it is easier than you think.

There are tons and tons of e-books, membership, and gurus out there who are more than willing to take your money and teach you a few things on optimizing your website. Trust me! Been there, done that and spent $1000’s for nothing.

learn SEO techniques without paying through the nose!

Glad you asked! I can only speak from my personal experience on this topic, but the resource I found that taught me the most about Internet Marketing and Advertising was Marketing Merge Professional. This is also known as Renegade university and it work for me because it was an easy to follow step by step system of webinars that showed me exactly how to do each step of a process. Even beginners on the computer can follow this as they are even shown how to “cut and paste”. This is an online internet marketing university where you learn how to generate leads using free Social Marketing resources such as MySpace, Facebook, Squidoo Lens, etc.

Now maybe you think you do not have time to go back to “Internet School” but you still want an effective marketing tool to get your website into the search engines. Well, I hate to break it to you, but it is going to take some effort to learn the techniques you really need to know to be successful. (Successful at generating your own leads without paying for them) I have found some additional resources that will help you develop leads and get search engine ranking until you commit yourself to the Renegade University. I will share a couple of those with you now:

Blastomatic.
This is an ad submission service that blasts 12 million ads for you which causes the search engine spiders to find your content and get you ranked in the search engines.

Blastomatic is actually part of a bigger system called the Veretekk Marketing System which gives you so much in one system you won’t need to go anywhere else. You can have SEO resources such as Blastomatic, Leadsomatic, and several Marketing Centers to use at your disposal, email, autoresponders and more. Veretekk is all about YOUR business! Believe it or not, the Veretekk system is free to use unless you choose to take advantage of the many Search Engine Optimization and Lead Generations Resources, at which time you would need to upgrade to Gold.

As a Gold subscriber you can create an unlimited number of Market Centers to promote as many products, services, and/or business opportunities you want. Every step of the Veretekk System leads you to another income stream and opportunity to assist you in funding your business as it grows.

Launching a Blog Successfully in 6 Simple Steps

Blogs,Internet Marketing,New to the Internet

Setting up and launching a blog is relatively easy. However immediately before and after the launch certain steps should be taken and proper blogging habits should be established. These steps and habits will help maximize the amount of success you experience during the critical infancy stages of your blog. Here’s a checklist to help insure your blog is both properly prepared and maintained:

Step #1 – Focus on the Setup

In your rush or excitement to launch your blog don’t forget to insure your setup is complete and working properly. You should have your RSS feed working correctly and be sure your site is optimized for the search engines. Also don’t forget to check that you’re able to ping the blog search engines with every new blog post. No matter how good your design may look, if you are not correctly ‘broadcasting’ your blog or optimized nobody will know you exist.

Step #2 -Establish Your Blog Theme

At this point you should already have chosen a blog theme or topic which you will blog about. Remember this topic and stay with it CONSISTENTLY as you post. Wandering off onto other subjects will only confuse your readers and the search engines. People came to your blog and returned because they were interested in the topic. To change that now would only make them lose interest in your blog and leave permanently.

Step #3 – Post with Predictable Regularity

In the initial stages it is recommended that you post frequently to get noticed and build up the flow of traffic to your blog. However often you decide to post make an effort to maintain that schedule. This will help establish a regimen for both yourself and your readers. Step # 4 – Encourage Comments

Encouraging the interaction of your readers will only make your blog more popular. By exchanging comments and responses a sense of community will develop. Not to be overlooked in this process is the important feedback a blog owner can receive and use to improve the blog.

Step # 5 – Say More with Less Words

People generally skim for news and information whether online or off. Make it easy for your readers by being concise and to the point with your post.

Step # 6 – Show some Personality

Take advantage of the ‘forum’ a blog gives you and let your writings reflect your attitude, humor, flair, or uniqueness. This will help your readers identify with you while also injecting some life into what could otherwise sometimes be a ‘ho hum’ blog post.

While setting up and launching a blog can take relatively little time don’t expect to establish regular traffic just as quickly. Time must be given for word about your blog to circulate. It’s during this time that you must continue to add good content and interact with your readers. Your consistency in doing so will be reflected in future traffic to your blog. To your blogging Success!
